Zum Parent App Now Supports 10 Languages, Improving Accessibility and Student Safety for Families and School Districts Nationwide

Today Zūm announced that its industry-leading parent app has been expanded to support 10 languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Arabic, Haitian Creole, Somali, and Cape Verdean Creole.

The Zum app provides first-of-its-kind connectivity between families, drivers and schools and is built to ensure students are safe from the moment they get on the bus until they are back home.

On the app, parents can see a profile of their child’s driver, along with real-time information about school bus location and their child’s pickup or dropoff status. This latest app update provides 10 language options for real-time ride notifications, route information and more.

“We are continuously working to improve accessibility for the thousands of families and schools that rely on Zum to get students to and from school,” said Ritu Narayan, Founder and CEO at Zum. “This new update to the Zum app ensures that every student has a safe, reliable ride – and gives parents peace of mind by providing real-time information about their child’s bus.”

To date, the Zum app has received a 4.9 star rating (out of 5) with more than 355,000 parent ratings. Additionally, Zum has achieved a 98% on-time arrival rate in its partner school districts as well as an overall 20% reduction in bus fleet size and 25% fewer student commute hours.

Other features and recent updates to the Zum app include:

  • Real-time ride notifications and an accurate ETA while the bus is en route;
  • Self-service functions such as canceling a ride;
  • An enhanced live map experience and live vehicle tracking;
  • An easy-to-use support experience when parents need to contact their school district about their child’s ride or Zum to get technical support for the app;
  • Infrastructure updates that provide faster performance tracking and improve the reliability of real-time updates.
