Zero-Tolerance for Discrimination or Harassment*
Zum has zero tolerance and strictly prohibits discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, gender, sex (including pregnancy, lactation, childbirth or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin or ancestry, caste, citizenship or immigration status, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, uniformed service member status or any other status protected by federal, state or local law (collectively, “Protected Characteristics”). Our commitment to diversity and inclusivity applies to all persons involved in or engaging with our operations and prohibits unlawful discrimination by any employee.
*Zum’s Nondiscrimination policy is in accordance with the requirements of 40 C.F.R. Parts 5 and 7, to effectuate Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 as amended, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and Section 13 of the Federal Water Pollution Contact Act Amendments of 1972.
Complaint Procedures
Any individual who believes that they or another individual have been subjected to discrimination in violation of this Policy should report it pursuant to the Complaint Procedures outlined below.
Complaints can be made verbally, or in writing, to Zum’s nondiscrimination coordinator Chris Tobin, at hr@ridezum.com, (855) 743-7964, 275 Shoreline Drive, Suite 200, Redwood City, CA 94065. If a complaint is made to a Zum employee, that employee will immediately report the matter through these channels.

Investigation
After a complaint is received, or the Company otherwise has reason to believe discrimination, harassment or retaliation is occurring, a timely, thorough and objective investigation will be undertaken. The Company will maintain confidentiality surrounding the investigation to the extent possible, consistent with a thorough and objective investigation, and to the extent permitted or required under applicable law. Once the investigation is completed and a determination is made, the involved parties will be advised that the investigation has been completed and, where appropriate, the outcome of the investigation. If a Zum employee is found to have violated Zum strict prohibition against discrimination and harassment, the Company will take appropriate disciplinary action against them, up to and including termination of employment.
Protection Against Retaliation
Retaliation against anyone using the complaint procedures provided above, reporting proscribed discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment or retaliation, objecting to such conduct or filing, testifying, assisting or participating in any manner in any investigation, proceeding or hearing conducted by a governmental agency, is strictly prohibited.
Individuals who believe they have been subjected to retaliation or believe that another individual has been subjected to retaliation, should immediately report this concern pursuant to the procedures outlined above. Any report of retaliatory conduct will be investigated in a thorough and objective manner. If an employee is deemed to have intimidated or retaliated against a complainant under this Policy, the Company will take appropriate disciplinary action against them, up to and including termination of employment.
