Your privacy and the privacy of our students is very important to us. We are providing this privacy statement to help you understand the limited ways we collect, use, and disclose personal data in connection with the parent app.
This privacy statement applies to Zum Services, Inc. and to our controlled affiliates and subsidiaries that operate our Zum app for parents. This privacy statement only applies to our services that link to this statement, but it does not apply to any services that link to, display, or reference a different privacy statement.
Personal Data We Collect
The personal data we collect depends on how you interact with us, the services you use, and the choices you make. We may collect personal data directly from you, such as when you provide an email address to us, and we automatically collect certain personal data from you when you visit and navigate our app. In addition, schools and other third parties may provide personal data about you or your student to us as described in this statement.
Information you provide directly
We may collect personal data you provide to us, such as:
- Name, contact, and account information. Such as names, usernames, student identifier, and password; contact details such as email address, postal address, and phone number.
- Demographic data. Such as date of birth, gender, school, and grade level.
- Content, communications, and files. Such as photos you upload to our services, email messages, or other communications.
- Health-related data. We may collect information concerning your student’s need for additional assistance only to the extent required for safe transportation of your student.
Information we collect automatically
We may collect certain information automatically in conjunction with our services, such as:
- Identifiers and device information. The service may automatically log information about your or your student’s device or account, including device identifiers (such as Mobile ID); account identifiers; device type; the device’s operating system and type and version, language, settings, and configuration; and mobile carrier.
- Geolocation data. We collect geolocation data in order to display the maps and the location of rides. This information may include precise geolocation data.
- Usage data. We automatically log your activity on this app to provide and improve our services, including the URL of the website from which you came to our app, your interaction with the app, pages viewed, time spent on a page, access times, and other details about your use of our app.
Information we generate
We may infer new information from other data we collect, including using automated means to generate information about your likely preferences or other characteristics in order to provide or improve our services.
Information we obtain from third-party sources
To the extent necessary for the provision of our services, we may also obtain certain information from other third-party sources, such as mapping software or information received from the device itself.

We use personal data in the following ways:
- Product and service delivery. To provide and personalize our services, including troubleshooting and improving those services.
