Zum CEO Ritu Narayan joins Deploy23 clean energy conference

Zūm CEO and Founder Ritu Narayan joined leaders from the Department of Energy and Tesla for a discussion at Demonstrate Deploy Decarbonize 23 (Deploy23), a clean energy event held Sept. 26-27 in Washington, D.C.

Deploy23 is the first annual gathering of a diverse group of industry leaders to discuss new clean energy and decarbonization technologies, deploying them at scale, and decarbonizing the U.S. economy.

Narayan was a featured speaker for “EVs, VPPs and the Future of the Grid,” a conversation which focused on widespread deployment of electric vehicles and how companies – including Zum – are utilizing EVs as virtual power plants. Joining her were Patrick Bean, Director of Infrastructure Policy & Business Development at Tesla; and Gabe Klein, Executive Director, Joint Office of Energy and Transportation at the Department of Energy.

“I was honored to be among the diverse group of industry leaders at Deploy23 and to participate in a very important conversation on the deployment of energy transition. At Zum, electrification of school buses and giving energy back to the grid are at the core of our vision.”

Co-hosted by the Cleantech Leaders Climate Forum and the Department of Energy’s Loan Programs Office, the mission of Deploy23 is “catalyzing deployment and investment to scale up the next generation of infrastructure to achieve net zero – while creating good jobs, strengthening domestic supply chains, and ensuring benefits are equitably shared.”
