St. Ignatius College Preparatory is a private high school in San Francisco, serving approximately 1,500 students and enjoys a 160 year history. With its main campus in the dense urban environment of San Francisco, St. Ignatius sought an environmentally friendly alternative to large buses to transport students.

Realizing that buses depreciate quickly and are detrimental to the environment, St. Ignatius turned to Zum for right-sized vehicles and a carbon-friendly transportation alternative. Along with cost and time savings, the smaller vehicles create less emissions and re-inforces an important positive message to students. “Students learn that protecting our planet is important,” said St. Ignatius Principal Patrick Ruff.

In addition to this, Zum offers faster and more flexible route creation, which is critical as the urban streets of San Francisco can often be inaccessible to large buses. “We appreciate the flexibility of sending a car to any area of the city.”

"Rather than 8 students on a near-empty 50-seat bus, Zum provides 2 cars for 4 students a-piece. That’s better for everyone."
