Yes, a California commercial driver’s license is required. Zum will pay for on-the-road training and certification if you are not yet a Certified School Bus Driver. Classroom training (40 hours) is not paid.

Zum handles the communication and logistics with schools so you can worry more about safely and efficiently getting students to their destination. We offer modern digital tools such as easy to use tablets that are in stock and ready for use so you’ll quickly and easily know the routes (including changes) and students you are picking up.
Our new, modern bus depots are located in Gardena, Sun Valley, and Downtown LA.
Drivers shall be guaranteed a minimum of five (5) hours of work or pay, regardless of whether buses are carrying students. You will work morning and afternoons, 5+ hours a day on average, with opportunities for additional routes, trips and hours for other assignments as they become available.
In the unforeseen event that you work overtime (we know LA traffic can be a drag), you will be compensated accordingly.

Overall, drivers will be paid a base wage depending on years of driving experience. A first-year, recently-certified driver would earn $26.00 per hour, whereas a driver with 7+ years of experience would earn $33.00 per hour.
Yes, your prior commercial driving experience will be honored for the purpose of determining your pay.

Yes, of course you can. Unemployment benefits are paid based on eligibility criteria involving how many hours you’re able to work, not how many places you’re actively employed.
