Zūm CEO Ritu Narayan Talks Sustainability with University of Texas Students
This week, Zūm CEO Ritu Narayan gave a virtual guest lecture at the University of Texas at Austin, where she discussed sustainability and her work to modernize student transportation.
“What a treat to have Ritu Narayan visit today with students in my ‘Law and Ethics of Climate Change and Sustainability’ class at the University of Texas at Austin,” said Amon Burton, who teaches the class. “The students saw a dramatic example of how a young entrepreneur has reimagined, disrupted and transformed the decades-old school bus system so that it is sustainable, safer and dramatically reduces GHG emissions.”
Burton added, “Based on what I learned today, Zum represents the future of how elementary through high school students will get to school.”
Narayan shared her own career path, answered questions and discussed the power of disrupting an industry that has the ability to change and improve the environment, our health and communities worldwide.
“It was such a pleasure meeting these students, and I was inspired and energized by our conversation,” said Narayan. “At Zum, we are committed to delivering equitable, accessible and sustainable student transportation for all – and believe that doing so contributes to a better educational experience.”
Thanks to the University of Texas at Austin for a fantastic and thought-provoking afternoon!
