Fresno Unified School District Partners with Zūm for Student Transportation
We’re excited to share that Fresno Unified School District has awarded a five-year transportation contract to Zūm.
Fresno United is the fourth largest unified school district in California, with 73,000 students in 106 schools. Beginning in the 2026-27 school year, this partnership with Zūm will enable the district to deliver superior service built around the needs of students and families along with teachers, administrators and drivers.
In August 2026, Zūm will begin providing transportation services for all Special Education routes, including Zūm’s proprietary technology platform.
The decision signals the California district’s commitment to a safe, efficient, tech-enabled and more equitable solution for students and families. Zūm will provide higher wages and modern benefits for drivers; a new fleet of buses with top-of-the-line equipment, including air conditioning on all buses; and continuous training and support for drivers and staff.
In addition, Zūm will work in partnership with Fresno Unified to deploy Zūm’s technology platform across all district-operated General Education routes starting in August 2025, supporting Fresno Unified to manage, monitor, and optimize transportation using Zūm’s technology platform on the district-operated fleet in the 2025-26 school year.
