How are you/Foley driving innovation forward?
At a high level, Foley is driving innovation forward by helping American companies recruit, screen, train, and onboard employees faster and more efficiently.
One big way we’re doing that is by sharing more information more quickly. So, let’s say a driver passes a required certification, or they are let go. Foley—which is integrated with your company’s ATS and HR software—shares that update to all parties instantly, making sure everyone is notified and can operate immediately using that new information. That means nobody is left out of the loop, and your company can continue running its recruiting and onboarding process as smoothly as ever. We’re not only making recruiting and onboarding easier, but we’re also helping companies make better hiring decisions.
By making information accessible instantly, we’re helping companies move as quickly and efficiently as possible—so they themselves can also innovate.
From your perspective at Foley, how is Zum driving America forward?
Zum is driving innovation by bringing transparency and efficiency to student transportation.
When Zum works with a school district, the kids feel safer because they have the same driver every day. Parents and school administrators feel safer because they know where the students are at any given time. Zum’s incredible level of transparency sets the standard for both efficiency and peace of mind—which is invaluable, especially to parents of young children.
I have a son with special needs. Unfortunately, where I live in Connecticut, our school district has not upgraded its student transportation system, and does not work with Zum. That means my son may have multiple different drivers over the course of a week. Many times, I’ve stood outside with my son waiting for the bus, only to see a driver I’ve never seen before pull up to the curb. It’s hard, because I don’t get the same peace of mind as I would if my school district partnered with Zum.
In the field of student transportation, which has been behind the times for so long, transparency and peace of mind are innovative—and Zum is driving that charge.
When you think of the future, what role do children/the next generation play, and how can we set them up for success?
This one is easy. Everything starts with our children.
If our children feel safe, they’ll feel more confident. If they’re confident, they’ll be curious—and if they’re curious, they’re innovative.
As adults, and those working in student transportation, it’s our job to make our students feel as safe as possible. That way, they’ll grow up to be innovators—and take the baton when we’re ready to hand it off.
