Back to School 2025: San Francisco, CA
As students in San Francisco returned to school this week, Zūm drivers were excited to kick off another year of delivering safe, reliable rides for this vibrant and supportive school community.
Zum is proud to serve students, families and schools in San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). Last week Zum leadership, drivers and staff kicked off the 2025-26 school year at a special community event that highlighted school transportation safety and welcomed several notable guests, including SFUSD Superintendent of Public Schools Dr. Maria Su; San Francisco Chief of Police Paul Yep; and San Francisco School Board of Education Commissioner Supryia Ray.

“It was an honor to be part of this event launching the new school year — and hearing about what a positive impact Zum is making on families in San Francisco,” said Paul Ahn, Senior General Manager at Zum. “Our drivers are the best in the business, and they’re eager to get back on the roads to deliver safe and reliable rides for students every day.”
Ahn added that Zum’s team spent the summer working to ensure all equipment is in top shape and that drivers are well-trained and fully comfortable with their routes. “We are grateful to work in such a supportive school community, where families and schools align with Zum’s mission of prioritizing children’s safety and wellbeing on the school bus,” Ahn added.
Zum delivers safe, reliable and equitable student transportation in 14 states nationwide and takes pride in being a “choice employer” in cities where it has partnerships.
We’re looking forward to an amazing school year in San Francisco and are grateful to our top-notch teams! See more photos from the community event below:
