Back to School 2025: Kansas City, MO

We are delighted to be back to school in Kansas City!

Zūm kicked off the 2025-26 school year in Kansas City, Mo., with a launch event for drivers and staff at the Zum bus yard. This is the second year Zum has partnered with Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) for student transportation.

“Our entire team in Kansas City spent the summer working hard to prepare for another outstanding year, and we are already off to a great start,” said Richard Lindell, Regional Manager at Zum. “We are grateful to our drivers and staff for their dedication to providing safe, efficient and top-notch transportation for every KCPS student and family. We value this partnership, and we look forward to the year ahead.”

“Drivers have a positive role in students’ lives, and we are privileged to be serving children and families in Kansas City Public Schools,” said Liz Sanchez, Executive Vice President of Student Transportation at Zum. “Our drivers receive advanced training and enjoy top-of-the-line buses with air conditioning and lumbar support. We are proud to work with this community.”

Zum’s buses prioritize advanced safety features and family-focused service. All Zum drivers interact with an easy-to-use technology platform that includes route optimization; GPS tracking; a state-of-the-art AI camera system for training and student safety; and a driver tablet for navigation, tracking student attendance and keeping tabs on items left behind on the bus.

Zum delivers safe, reliable and equitable student transportation in 14 states nationwide.

We appreciate the KCPS community and are delighted to continue serving students, families, drivers and schools in the 2025-26 school year!
