Back to School 2024: San Francisco, Calif.

This week Zūm rang in the 2024-25 school year with a kickoff event in San Francisco for drivers and staff.

Held at Zum’s bus yard, the celebration comes a few days after Zum’s back-to-school event in Oakland, Calif., where Zum is making history by launching the nation’s first all-electric fleet of school buses. Plans are already underway to transition San Francisco Unified School District to a 100% electric fleet.

“We’re thrilled to kick off the school year in San Francisco, where families and schools align with Zum’s mission of prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of children,” said Liz Sanchez, Executive Vice President of Student Transportation at Zum. “We’re fortunate to have a best-in-class team of drivers who are ready to deliver safe, reliable and equitable rides each day.”

“We’re eager to start the school year in this supportive community, and we value the trusted relationships our drivers have developed with the children and families of the city,” said Lisette Gaitan, San Francisco General Manager at Zum. “Our staff, technology and buses are all first-rate and ready to kick off another great school year.”

Zum manages and operates safe, reliable, equitable and sustainable student transportation in 14 states nationwide.
