Back to School 2024: Omaha, Neb.
On Monday Zūm held a back-to-school kickoff celebration in Omaha, Neb., for its new team of drivers and staff. The 2024-25 school year marks the first year of Zum’s partnership with Omaha Public Schools.
“Over the last several months, our team at Zūm has been working to ensure safe, reliable, and state-of-the-art student transportation for all families in Omaha – and we couldn’t be more excited to kick off the school year,” said Richard Lindell, Regional Manager at Zum. “We know that safe and dependable student transportation is crucial to the wellbeing of children and families, and it’s an honor to serve this school community.”
“We’ve been busy hiring and training a fantastic team of drivers here as well as working to ensure our buses, technology and equipment are first-rate and ready for the school year,” said Lindell. “We have an excellent program in place and are eager to deliver safe and efficient transportation to every student.”
Zum drivers work in top-notch facilities and drive new buses equipped with air conditioning, driver seats with lumbar support, and advanced technology designed to increase safety and transparency.
All Zum drivers use a technology platform that includes:
- AI technology that optimizes routes based on traffic and school schedules, meaning students travel fewer miles and spend less time on the road.
- Important information about students on their assigned routes. Routes are adjusted in real time to account for traffic issues.
- A state-of-the-art AI camera system for training, coaching and student safety.
- GPS tracking, vehicle diagnostics and a driver tablet for navigation and keeping tabs on items left behind on the bus.
- Digital inspection and driver performance reports.
