Back to School 2024: Los Angeles and San Bernardino, Calif.

This week Zūm kicked off the 2024-25 school year with back-to-school celebrations in Los Angeles and San Bernardino, Calif.

At the launch events, drivers and staff gathered in the Zum bus yards. This is the second year Zum has partnered with San Bernardino Unified School District for student transportation; in Los Angeles, plans are already underway to transition to an all-electric fleet of school buses.

“Drivers are at the center of what we do at Zum, and we’re excited to kick off the school year with these outstanding teams in Los Angeles and San Bernardino,” said Liz Sanchez, Executive Vice President of Student Transportation at Zum. “We take pride in providing an excellent workplace culture and environment for all drivers and staff so that we can best serve students and families. We’re looking forward to a great year!”

“We have spent the summer ensuring that our drivers, equipment and technology are all top-notch,” said Eddie Romero, Los Angeles General Manager. “We know that student transportation plays an important role in children’s lives, and we’re honored to provide safe, reliable and equitable rides every day for our school community.”

“Students in San Bernardino deserve the best, and we’re fortunate to have such a highly trained and collaborative group of drivers and staff,” Said Eric Huegerich, General Manager, San Bernardino at Zum. “We are eager and ready to deliver best-in-class service in the new school year.”

Zum manages and operates safe, reliable, equitable and sustainable student transportation in 14 states nationwide.
