‘Aconic’ Podcast Welcomes Zum CEO Ritu Narayan
This week Zūm Founder and CEO Ritu Narayan appeared on the Aconic Podcast to talk about entrepreneurship, her personal journey and why she is committed to modernizing student transportation for all children, families, drivers and schools nationwide.
“Don’t be an entrepreneur if you’re not passionate about the idea you’re working on,” Narayan tells host Soon Yu. “It’s such a hard journey, but if you’re super-passionate about the problem and your customers, it’ll make you go so far.”
Narayan shares details of her childhood growing up in India — where she was one of six women in a class of 300 at the prestigious Delhi Institute of Technology — as well as why she decided to expand Zum from a local ride-sharing service for children to a full-service student transportation solution that, today, serves more than 4,000 schools across the U.S.
“Entrepreneurship doesn’t start when you have something in hand,” Narayan adds. “Entrepreneurship starts when you have an itch to do something. Your journey starts right there in terms of collecting the resources and making the first things happen.”
The Aconic Podcast spotlights successful Asian and AAPI leaders who share their personal journeys of challenges and triumphs.
